I have been tattooing since the age of 21 after deciding that that the local tattoo artists did not have a lot to offer at the time. Starting off by hand pushing tattoo’s for friends I moved on to using machines after being shown the ropes by Portsmouth tattooists Mike Wheeler and Joe Fletcher.

I was mainly self-taught with some help from various tattooists around Europe and the UK.

After tattooing as a hobby for around ten years I decided to give up the day job and applied for a tattooing license with the local authorities and started professional tattooing from a studio in my flat in Surrey Quays.

Within the first year I had become quite popular as I like to do the sort of work that other tattooists don’t like to touch, I .E. (cover ups, big black work and small fiddly stuff ) so I started looking for other premises with my friend Adam Collins ( who now tattoo’s with Lal Hardy in Muswell Hill and Simon Grayling who covered the piercing side of things.

After three years at my first shop in Waterloo I looked for larger premises in the same street where I had various artists working with me from around the world whom I picked up various tips and techniques.

After a further five years working in my shop I decided to sort of go back to my roots and tattoo from a private studio at my home in New Cross as I found that a shop environment was’nt peaceful enough to do the larger pieces of work which I mainly do now.

I am much happier being able to provide a private environment for my clients in a relaxed atmosphere and good music, whatever your poison?
